Hey everyone! Ginny here, and I am so excited to spill the “official” beans…Meet Madison! TWC’s Newest Team Member!
We put out a call for an Editorial Assistant last month and we were totally BLOWN AWAY with the response! Really, who knew that many people actually read our blog, let alone wanted to work with us?
So when we received a snazzy email from a gal that just so happened to live right here in Germany, AND just so happened to have hopped the ocean for love herself (for those that don’t know, Ann & I both crossed the ocean for love), AND she just so happens to be getting married next year (+ a whole lotta other boring qualified reasons), we just knew she was the right fit!
Without further adieu, I’d love to introduce you to Madison Lee!
We thought it would be fun to interview Madison so you could get to know her more!
Tell us about yourself & what your day to day life looks like?
Hello! I am Madison, I grew up in the Midwest on a farm spending my days riding horses. I moved out of state for college and graduated when I was just 20. Immediately after graduation I relocated to Wisconsin for work, and a year later, met the love of my life while he was working in the US. A year after meeting, we relocated to Germany and the rest they say is history. I currently work for an International School as the Executive Assistant to the Director. In my free time, I am busy planning our July 2017 German/American wedding, taking walks with Charlie our Golden-Doodle kid… I mean dog, and learning German. In October I will graduate with a Master’s degree in International Human Resources Management. In my free time I enjoy reading, traveling, and practicing yoga. Namaste!
How did you become fascinated with weddings?
As a child, I was never really a girly girl. I hated Barbie’s and I preferred to be out in the barn with my horses, and I never really cared about weddings then. However, when I got a little bit older, and discovered Pinterest, I was officially bit by the wedding bug and I have been obsessed ever since. I totally had a wedding Pinterest board way before I even met my Fiancé (it was a secret board, of course!)
What/Who inspires you?
Wow, that is a hard one. I like getting inspiration from people and I have some pretty awesome people in my life. My sister is always inspiring me to be more creative and more caring towards others. My parents inspire me to become the best version of myself. And my fiancé inspires me to continually learn and absorb new information. Witnessing peoples struggles and triumphs always fills my inspiration glass to the top! It never ceases to amaze me when I learn about the trails and tribulations others have made it through.
What is your favorite part about a wedding?
Is it a cliché to say the Love? My favorite thing is being able to look at a wedding, whether in photos or real life, and immediately see that the couple is perfect for one another. Isn’t that what weddings are all about anyway? J
Favorite cake flavor?
Ok, this is the toughest question yet… all of them? No but seriously, it is hard to choose one! When I am away from the US, I miss a really good white cake with almond buttercream frosting. And when I am away from Germany, I miss strawberry cake (a not too sweet yellow cake covered in strawberries). Now I need to go find myself a piece of cake.
Favorite social media outlet you can be found on?
Besides Pinterest, I have a soft spot for Instagram. Feel free to follow my random fitness adventures @fitgirl_livingabroad
