Wedding Planning Tips for the New Year!

Congratulations! If you are a 2014 Bride, it is finally your year to say “We’re Getting Married!” followed by those two little words you have been dying to say…”THIS YEAR!!!!”

What better way to wake up on the first day of a new year, than to wake up knowing you are on your way to wedded bliss. Here are some tips for staying calm and enjoying the moment when your big day is finally near:

1. Stick to your list, and check it twice!

Whether your wedding day is just around the corner, or a little further out, it is always good to have a list of things to do each month. Be sure to stick to it, and not let it overwhelm you. If you are not the most organized person, find someone who is, whether it be your wedding planner or best friend.

2. Face that budget, head on!

The first thing anyone planning a wedding should do is set a budget, a realistic one. Go over it with a fine tooth comb, and make certain everything is accounted for. It’s always good to budget for some unexpected expenses, because trust me, there are always unexpected expenses.

3. Book your favorite vendors early!

Typically the most sought after Wedding Vendors book up 12-15 months in advance. Especially, if your wedding date is during peak season, or on a popular wedding date such as 4-4-14.

4. Spend time with those who are genuinely happy for you and are excited for your big day!

This is not a time to surround yourself with anyone in your life who typically brings negativity to any situation. Your wedding should be a happy occasion, keep the drama to a minimum and nip it in the bud early on.

5. Enjoy the planning process!

There is no better feeling than the Engagement phase. Make time to take part in activities which relax you, you’ll need this among the craziness of planning a wedding. Take a hot bath, lose yourself in a new book (non-wedding), or go for a run.
