This Vintage Alabama Wedding has everything we love: sparkly dresses, fabulous cakes, and an amazing love! The couple, with the help of the bride’s mother, planned the perfect day. We think the customized wine corks are unique and classy, while the monogrammed bridesmaid pajamas are chic and fun!
Photographer, Mandy Owens Photography, did a fantastic job documenting the day, especially the first look when the groom can be seen sheding a tear or two (isn’t that the cutest?!) Read on for more about the couple and to admire that drool-worthy groom’s cake!
How did you two meet?
We met while both working at a golf course.
How did he/she propose?
He proposed at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Tell us about your wedding style. (Bride, Groom, and Bridal Party)
Vintage – Bride wore birdcage veil, lace dress, and had vintage handmade clutch/purse. Bridal party (bridesmaids and bride) arrived to ceremony by horse and carriage. Bride and groom left reception in same carriage. The band that played during the ceremony was vintage inspired.
What was your favorite moment of the day?
Right after the ceremony the bride and groom were given time to share alone before going to the reception. We were able to talk, enjoy the moment, and share our first meal as husband and wife.
How did you go about finding & hiring your wedding vendors?
My mom! She did all the planning, coordinating, and searching for the best vendors!
Do you have any advice to other couples planning their day?
Don’t sweat the small things.
What was your favorite part of the planning process?
Cake tasting!
Looking back, what was the best decision you made when planning your wedding day? Is there something you wish you had done differently?
The best decision was giving ourselves a day to rest/relax/pack after the wedding, before we took off for our honeymoon in the Dominican Republic.
