We are so honored to share the beautiful wedding of Lilla & Zoli, who meticulously planned their dream wedding over the course of a year and a half so that they could have everything they’d ever dreamed of for their wedding day. Lilla was kind enough to share with us their story and vision, down to every detail so we think it’s best we allow her to share it in her own words from here. We hope you will fall in love with this gorgeous rustic garden wedding in Hungary just the way that we have.

From the Bride
All we wanted was a dream wedding! And for this we did everything we could. If I take a look at it back now, it was worth it – every single sleepless night, all our little secrets that we kept from each other and even the not so pleasant arguments we had (of course not between the two of us but more with the different providers :)) to make our dreams come true, because in the end we created something truly magical something beyond our dreams! There is not one bit I would do differently nor would I change! Even the occasionally occurred panics resulted in finding just the right people, with whom I share the same attitudes towards work.
Of course it is very difficult to talk about this in only a couple of sentences. Am I biased? YES, for sure! But who wouldn’t be when it comes to talking about their own wedding especially when it took them not less than one and a half years to organize. However, I won’t mention all the little details as I’m sure then around half way through I would loose half of the people reading my article. So I’ll stick to the most important ones and hope you’ll find them interesting enough to hang around long enough to read it. 🙂
For our venue we chose Csongrad in Hungary, which is my husband’s home town. This was particularly important to us as we wanted to celebrate our wedding somewhere we feel connected to and also this opened a beautiful opportunity to use this magnificent garden for the celebration. This garden came with a restaurant too although it wouldn’t have worked for us but that didn’t interfere with our plans as we knew straight from the beginning that we wanted to use a marquee for the dinner and party. we were also very certain that our ceremony will be outdoor. Our dream was to exchange our vows under a big tree. This nicely fitted with the rustic style we fell in love with and this was further enhanced with the decorations of the ceremony such as the two ladder joined with a beautiful green garland, the antic table for the registrar, the number of different antic chairs for the guests as well as the big wooden plates for us and our bridesmaids/groomsman to stand on.
Our decorations were made by Emese from the Natural Wedding Decor. We first met Emese to ask her assistance in creating our wedding invitations. Emese has such a high degree of humble, love and dedication toward her work that only a few possess! The feeling of trust that I could let go off of my worries and be 100% sure that everything will be perfect if she works on it is priceless! And in the end everything turned out to be exactly as I dreamed of only better!!! The welcome drinks for the guests was held in the same area as the ceremony so this way the guests had enough time to examine every little details of the decoration.
Before the ceremony our guests were free to try our homemade lemonades or spritzers that were put on wine barrels that served also as tables. Our childhood and joined pictures were everywhere that also helped to symbolise the intimate atmosphere and the reason we all came together.
An old clock’s alarm went off at exactly 5 o’clock. This symbolised the start of the ceremony. After this one of my bridesmaid sang “how long will I love you” and my husband with his mother walked in to his spot. My bridesmaids followed him one after another and so did my two little flower girls. I was the last to walk in on my father’s side. This was the first time we saw each other. This moment burned into our hearts forever. As part of our ceremony we also exchanged our own vows. At the end of it these vows were sealed by locking them away with a bottle of wine that we will open on our 10th year anniversary when we will renew our vows.
During the night there were two or actually three more small “events” I would like to mention. One of them was the wedding cake. Our dessert table was in the marquee during the whole time (unlike it is usually the case in Hungary) and only the big cake that was brought in by the pastry chef herself. Who is the most talented and my absolute favourite in the the industry, Katalin Barabás (Kate’s sweeties). Kate made us a wonderful rustic naked cake decorated with real flowers, rosemary sticks and two little wooden birds on the top. Kate, as most of you know is my older sister whom I feel very close to! I knew that we won’t be disappointed with our dessert table if she is the one who prepares it. Her dedication is everything a bride could wish for even more so if you so happen to be her sister! She was so focused on delivering an exceptional work that even forgot to sleep the whole night before my wedding alongside with my mother who was her assistant. This was not only incredible but also a brave step as she was my maid of honour, as well. Regardless of the work during the night before the wedding both the cake and she looked stunning for our night! We cannot thank you you enough for all you have done!!
I imagined how beautiful it would be to have sparklers in all of our guests lighten up before the cake brought in. So that is exactly what we did and the spectacle was magnificent. My husband secretly prepared five beautiful songs that he sang and played on his guitar and I surprised him with a ballet performance. After this only one thing was coming, the party itself where we stayed until 5 in the morning. Amazing atmosphere, fantastic party and all the credit goes not only to us but also to all of our guests, as well.
I truly believe that we always attract what we need, it could be people, situations or experiences. I think I did a very good job attracting these wonderful people that all helped us make our wedding a one in a lifetime experience. Thank you very much for all and every provider. – Lilla & Zoli
