Frances & Nate’s romantic farm wedding in Vermont has our hearts a flutter! It was such a beautifully breathtaking atmosphere and these images captured the day so perfectly that we almost feel as if we have been transcended there in person. Frances wore an A-Line strapless ball gown style dress that was completed with wearing her sisters wedding veil. The decor was carefully planned out by the bride, she collected antique flower vases for an entire year prior and the night before she stayed up filling them with her bridal party. It was such a special and momentous occasion for all. How did he propose?
We were in Cape Cod at Nate’s family home. After a rainy morning cleared into a sunny late afternoon, Nate asked me if I wanted to go for a walk along the beach since it was low tide. As we made our way out to the mile mark, Nate got down on his knee and proposed. It was such a quiet and intimate moment I wouldn’t change for the world. As we made it back to the house, Nate wouldn’t let me call my family so that we could “enjoy the moment.” After thirty minutes, a mob of cars pulled into the driveway. Nate had coordinated to have my family come up from Connecticut and his family from Boston to celebrate the engagement.
What was your favorite part about the day?
Both of our favorite parts were exchanging vows that we wrote to one another. It was an extremely vulnerable and intimate moment for us to read our feelings and vows to one and other in front of our closest family and friends.
What was your favorite part of the planning process?
I didn’t want to take away from the gorgeous outdoor wildlife of our location so I kept the flower arrangements simple–the day before the wedding I picked and arranged the centerpieces and displayed them in antique vases that I collected for a year.
What song did you choose for your first dance?
Swept Away by the Avett Brothers
Looking back, what was the best decision you made when planning your wedding day?
The best decision we made was not taking the process too seriously, not getting caught up in the small details and have fun! We were extremely laid back throughout the whole process and made our decisions together. We also made sure to check something off of my list every week- whether it was reaching out to a vendor, buying vases, etc. I didn’t want to be stressed out right before the wedding. We wanted our wedding day to be relaxed and filled with love and that is exactly what we got.
Where did you honeymoon?
Rome, Italy Positano, Italy- our favorite spot! (we would go back here in a heartbeat), & Paris, France!

It would be nice to get credit for the personal flowers by Petals of Vermont. The ceremony and reception flowers came from Cedar Circle Farms.
thanks.

Michelle, Thank you for updating us on who provided the florals. The credit wasn’t originally given because the information was not provided when the photographer/couple submitted the event for publication. We have now updated the feature to include both floral companies. We always do our best to give full proper credit to all vendors of our wedding features.
