Yesterday, we featured part one of Josie & Alex’s engagement session where they had a beautiful video done during their photo shoot. Today, we bring you all of the gorgeous images taken by Couture Studios. This lovely couple is set to be married later this month, and we can’t wait to see what kind of magic these two create with their wedding day!
What was your inspiration for the overall theme and design?
I knew I wanted to touch on the playful side of Alex and I’s relationship and also showcase the magic between us. I think we accomplished just that. I explained to our cinematographers and photographer that I wanted it to be whimsical and romantic. The shoot location is actually where our March wedding will be so it was easy to feel inspired the day of our session.
How did he propose?
Alex and I had been long distance for about a year after he accepted a job in Washington D.C. and I was still finishing school in Florida. So, on one of my many visits to DC, Alex took me out to an intimate dinner followed by a romantic evening stroll in the city. We grabbed some yummy cupcakes from the Red Velvet cupcake bakery, and headed to Pennsylvania Avenue where we nestled down on a bench aside the US Navy Memorial Plaza and prestigious National Archive building. Seconds after taking in the scenery, Alex was kneeling down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him as his wife!! How could a girl say no?! The best part was that he had secretly placed the ring on a cupcake we bought without me ever noticing! The moment took my breath away and I will cherish it forever.
Tell us about the ring!
The ring is the most beautiful thing I have ever owned! It’s exactly what I would have picked out for myself, he did a phenomenal job picking it out for me! Proposing to me was the most romantic gesture ever.
Have you set a wedding date? Can you tell us about your wedding plans?
We’re getting married on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Epping Forest Yacht Club! We’re really excited were going to have a live band at our wedding so we plan on dancing the night away!
Tell us about the style of clothes you chose for the shoot.
I wanted our outfits to reflect that it was Fall and we also did the shoot on my birthday so I wanted to feel like I had a great birthday outfit! space46boutique.com makes gorgeous tulle skirts and I always wanted to wear one so I thought this was the perfect occasion! Alex wore a stylish slim fitting suit from Jos A. Bank and he looked mighty fine if I do say so myself.
