Jackie & Jon’s gorgeous ethereal bohemian inspired wedding in British Columbia was one for the books. She may just be one of the most gorgeous brides that has graced our blog, and Jon is looking pretty dapper in his tux too.
They were engaged during a surprise beach proposal that Jon had planned in the exact same spot they met 10 years prior. They walked along the shores of their beach until Jackie came upon a bottle in the sand with a love letter from Jon in it. The rest was history!

How Did You Meet?
We first met 10 years ago on a beach in Victoria BC, where we were both attending university.
Tell Us About Your Style for Your Wedding Day
Our wedding had an ethereal-bohemian feel to it. My dress was reminiscent of my mom’s 1970’s wedding dress with soft straps and a flower crown. I wore a garter made from pieces of my grandmother’s and mother’s wedding dresses and wore my sister in-law’s veil. It was a perfect collaboration of past and present.
Were There Any Family Traditions You Incorporated on Your Wedding Day?
My aunt was the one who married us, which was truly an honor for us. We both have incredible brother in-laws so we asked both of them to MC the reception and everyone one of our sisters, nieces, nephews and parents had a part in the wedding to make it truly special.

West coast and eclectic!
Looking Back, What Was The Best Decision You Made When Planning Your Wedding Day?
The best decision we made was booking an amazing venue. The Sooke Harbour House made our lives so easy from start to finish. I would definitely spend the energy finding a great venue… it’s worth it in the end.
What Was Your Vision For Your Wedding Day?
No real vision, just to be filled to the brim with love and a day that we would remember for the rest of our lives.
Which Song Did You Use For Your First Dance?
Fly Me to the Moon By Frank Sinatra. We picked it because Jon always finds a way to get someone to play it for me, no matter where we are, he will find a street vendor or performer to serenade us.
Fill my heart with song
and let me sing forever more
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore-Fly Me to the Moon By Frank Sinatra
Where Did You Honeymoon?
We left the next day to Spain and it was truly magical. We highly recommend visiting the island of Mallorca.
