Bridal Shower

Vintage Shabby Chic Bridal Shower – Beckley, West Virginia

The bride-to-be’s aunt hosted this beautiful vintage shabby chic bridal shower for her at her home in Beckley, WV. They began planning this about two months prior, and enjoyed many wine & craft nights making the beautiful frames you can see throughout the house. Every single detail of this day was thought out and executed to perfection. The bride, Kayla and her groom, Wade are set to be married next month in Lewisburg, PA where they currently live. These gorgeous images were captured by the talented Lori Cuthbert Photography.

Did you play any games for the shower?

When everyone first arrived we had cocktails and went around the room and each person told everyone how they knew Kayla and for how long and either a funny story about the bride or gave her marriage advice. We played the “what’s in your purse?” game (top points for a picture of the bride or groom and something blue in your purse)! Then we played the toilet paper wedding dress game in teams. For this we had teams of 2-3 people where one person is the “bride” and the other two are the designers. Each team member has one roll of toilet paper and uses it to wrap around the “bride” to make a wedding dress. We had 3 judges who also timed 5 minutes for the teams to make the dress. I recommend using a heavy duty toilet paper so it won’t tear as easily! It was fun because we had a few different generations mixed in the teams and you could tell when everyone had gotten married- big bows on the front of the dress- 80’s for sure!

What type of food was served?

We served chicken salad with croissants, filet slices, cheese with crackers and grapes, and salad. We had champagne, wines, and fruit tea, also.

Tell us about the cake!

I made a three layer lemon cake with a lemon filling and buttercream icing! I wanted to do a feminine vintage design in one of the brides colors she chose for her wedding. The ruffles turned out so cute! Also for desserts I had a cake pop bouquet (chocolate), french macaroons, coconut macaroons, and chocolate dipped strawberries. All of the brides favorite flavors!
