Lane and Brent went to the same high school and knew of each other but never really talked until they both started working together. They bonded over rock climbing outings and after work coffee shop chats—which quickly turned to romance and a long term relationship. They have been together since 2001 and definitely “took their sweet time!”
Brent proposed on a snowmobile ride in the middle of the woods late, late at night in backwoods Maine near Lane’s family’s cabin. A ways into the ride, he pretended that there was something wrong with the snowmobile. He told Lane that he had driven over a large branch that got stuck under the sled so he needed her to help lift it off the branch. They both got off to snowmobile, and Lane was too busy lifting the heavy sled and panicking that they were going to be stuck in the woods overnight to notice that he was down on one knee. Lane turned around to yell at him to hurry up because the snowmobile was heavy—and then she saw him . . . and a beautiful ring! Now that spot in the woods is their favorite picnic location.
They planned a gorgeous Tower Hill Botanical Garden Wedding in their home state of Massachusetts.
Kristen Chalmers Photography was there to capture it all.
