Elle & Eric met during college. The first time Eric saw Elle walk into class, he leaned to his friend and said “I don’t know who that is, but I am going to get to know her.” It just so happened that Eric had an adorable puppy, so he began taking it around Elle and her friends, which really ended up working out in his favor. The rest was history, and they were engaged in August of 2013. They opted to have this fun, romantic Duxbury Beach engagement session with Nelly Photography.
How Did He Propose?
It was definitely a very thought out plan! I guess it started when his mom gave me my belated birthday present in early July (I was in England for my birthday which was in May). It was an amazing wicker picnic basket, complete with blanket, beach table, wine glasses – the works. She had wrapped it in Macy’s paper and told me she found it on sale there. I remember telling Eric, “I LOVE the basket you mom got me, it is the exact one I was looking at on Amazon! What a coincidence!” … Little did I know that is exactly where it was from and Eric was behind the whole thing. She also gave Eric an ‘early birthday present’, a GoPro.(Again from Amazon and all part of Eric’s plan!). So finally, for the big weekend we were down in Rhode Island at my parents house, and Eric suggested we break in the picnic basket down on the beach in Watch Hill. From the second we left the house, Eric had his GoPro clicking away, and he was taking videos. He told me he wanted to try out his new gadget, and was thinking of starting a blog… looking back I was so oblivious! Looking back at it all, I can’t believe I didn’t have the little suspicion at all. We walked about a mile down the beach to set up the picnic, it was secluded – just us. It was such a beautiful night and at sunset, Eric got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was so shocked and excited!
Tell Us About The Ring!
I love my ring so much. My favorite part it is that Eric picked it out by himself, and knew exactly what would represent me. It is a solitaire diamond in a platinum setting. The diamond is classic but the band is contemporary and sleek.
