Jana & Matt’s classic, old hollywood inspired wedding is an affair to remember. From the groom getting a fresh shave in the morning to Jana’s custom made wonder woman inspired shoes, this wedding was anything but ordinary. They choreographed their own first dance, and enjoyed celebrating the night away with their closest family and friends at Queens Harbor Yacht & Country Club in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Their stunning photos were captured by the talented Liz Golden of J’adore Studios.
How did he propose?
He proposed on Christmas Eve by slipping a ring on my finger in the wee hours of the morning, in complete darkness and asking me to marry him. It was so perfect and personal and PURE TORTURE having to wait hours to call people!!!
Tell me about your dress.
My dress was/is an all lace, curve-friendly, nearly backless masterpiece by Allure. I wore custom made Wonder Woman comic book shoes. My girls were wearing LBD of their choosing from White House Black Market.
What was your vision for your wedding day?
I wanted a touch of Old Hollywood Glamour with a quiet elegance… candlelight and good music. Excellent food and dancing!
What was your favorite part of the planning process?
The cake tastings!!!!
Tell us about your Something blue, old, borrowed, and blue.
Something Old: My bouquet was wrapped in my mother’s veil and a pearl necklace that belonged to the groom’s mother. Something New: The Dress! Something Borrowed/Blue: A beautiful sapphire ring lent to me by my amazing friend and bridesmaid.
What was your favorite moment of the day? Grooms favorite moment?
We both mutually agreed that it was our choreographed first dance to Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds cover of Leonard Cohen’s “I’m Your Man”.
Do you have any advice to other couples planning their day?
HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER!!! LOL
