Last week we featured Heather and George’s modern wedding in Florida. Today, we bring you part two of their union, as they celebrated with family and friends in Cyprus on their second wedding day. All of the details were gorgeous; brought to life by the help of George’s wonderful sister. They wanted to have their talented photographer, who captured their first wedding day, also capture the second. Liz Golden, owner of J’adore Studios, and her assistant Morgan James made the journey across the Atlantic to be there for this very special day.
This romantic wedding was nothing short of a dream.

How Did He Propose?
He did a great job of surprising me with the proposal. We went for an overnight getaway to St. Petersburg, FL. We stayed at a very old, quaint, beautiful hotel on the marina called The Vinoy. We had a lovely room with a gorgeous terrace overlooking the water. I thought the purpose of the trip was to celebrate George’s fellowship position at UF for bariatrics and minimally invasive surgery. I was clueless to what was about to happen. After a nice dinner, we went back to the hotel and were out on the terrace enjoying the view. He started saying a lot of sweet things and at that point I still had no idea! After he said “I don’t know what I would do without you,” he reached into his pocket, pulled out the ring box and said, “that’s why I wanna know if you’ll marry me.” I was in shock/disbelief at first, but of course said YES!
Her Vision
My vision for this wedding was romantic, vintage, and lace. All these elements were incorporated, and I absolutely loved everything. My sister-in-law gets the credit for organizing everything and bringing my vision to life. It far exceeded my expectations!
Tradition
The Cyprus wedding was a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony. You take communion during the ceremony and there is a crowning that signifies joining the two of you together. Everything is spoken in classical Greek. It was a cool experience.
Best Moment
At the Cyprus wedding, we had a photo booth, which was a lot of fun for everyone. The dancing was also amazing. There’s nothing like Greek dance! Also, my sister-in-law got engaged in the photo booth at my wedding, so that was unique and exciting!
