When searching for her perfect wedding dress, Virginia was sure she wouldn’t ever find it at David’s Bridal so she went to dozens of shops and never had any luck. Then one day, she decided to give David’s Bridal a look after all and low and behold, there was her dream dress waiting for her. It was fate, much like the fairytale she had previously encountered when Matt proposed at Cinderella’s castle with her ring in a glass slipper. Their love was undeniable and it seemed to be ever more apparent as time went on with these two.
Virginia & Matt planned a sweet southern wedding full of vibrant colors. They wanted their wedding ceremony to focus on their love and commitment to one another, and that’s exactly how it turned out. Their reception was so much fun and one of their favorite touches was that they had a tea bar, which was a huge hit with their guests! I just love it when a bride and groom do something different on their wedding day. There’s no denying the love in these two’s faces, their smiles absolutely radiate with happiness and joy.

How did you two meet?
Matt and I met through a mutual friend at church. Matt offered to accompany us to the grocery store. When we got back, he and I stayed up until 2am talking in the parking lot. I was only 2 months into my freshman year of collage!
How did he propose?
Matt proposed while we were on a trip to Disney World, a place we share a love for! We had dinner at Cinderella’s castle our last night of our trip. After our entrée, our server brought a covered plate. When he removed the cover, there my ring was in a glass slipper! Matt got down on one knee and asked me to make his dream come true and marry him. I said yes through many happy tears. Everyone in the restaurant exploded into applause!
What was your vision for your wedding day?
I wanted my wedding day to be a day that everyone enjoyed and remembered. We put limited focus into the decorations for the ceremony and mainly focused on the reception. I wanted my guests to have fun and let loose and thoroughly enjoy themselves. I wanted my wedding to be one that was talked about for a long time. Not because of the money we spent or how good the food tasted, but because of the love they saw between Matt and me and the good time they had!
What was your favorite moment?
My favorite moment was the entire reception! Matt and I really wanted people to come and have fun, relax and celebrate our marriage. That is exactly what happened! The music was great, the food was wonderful, and everyone danced the entire night. As we drove away at the end of the night, I was sad that the reception was over! Matt agreed that the entire reception was his favorite moment!
What was the best decision your made when planning your wedding?
The best decision we made was spending the extra money on our tea bar. We had planned on doing all of the non-alcoholic drinks ourselves until we met the owners of Piper and Leaf at a wedding expo. We are SO happy we chose to have the tea bar. It alleviated the stress of trying to provide all of our drinks and it added a special element to our wedding that guests still talk about!
What song did you use for your first dance?
Matt and I danced to “Can’t take my eyes off you” by Lady Antebellum. When Matt and were dating I heard that song and set it as the ringtone for when he would call. When I was deciding on my music for the wedding I was struggling to choose a song for our first dance. I started going through all of the music on my phone and came across that song. As soon as I heard it again, I knew that was what we were going to dance to!
Where did you honeymoon?
We honeymooned in Hawaii. We stayed 7 nights at Disney’s Aulani. We absolutely loved it! There was so much to do and things to see! I would say be prepared to spend money, everything on the island is expensive!

This couple is just the sweetest! We also LOVED the Piper and Leaf tea bar at this wedding! It was so perfectly southern, and just the right touch for the reception! 🙂
